A Little about the Lodge and the Owner

Well this is my HARPG stud farm. Lockanora Lodge. I’ve been thinking about the design for some time now, anyway I think I’m really happy with this one. So we shall start in the north and work our way south over the property.

The northern land is surrounded by natural bush which then regresses into national park. The national park is rumoured to have a few herds of brumbies roaming. Managers of lockanora lodge have applied with the government about rounding up some members of the herd and selling them off. After all this is a much better option than culling. Of the 3 large paddocks the only one with some interesting information is the Hit Top Paddock. This paddock tends to accommodate the yearlings and any brumbies that we have pulled off the mountains. We allow the horses to grow up with only minimal interaction with humans, we believe this and our late start to training is what gives us such quite horses. All paddocks are equipped with small shelters and automatic waterers.

The spare loose yards – are hardly ever used but they are 13 foot square and have covering over half. The stables can be sully closed in to stop wind drafts but because of the Queensland heat they tend to be open to allow air flow. All stalls are 13 foot square, as are the yards that adjoin them.

The trails lead horse and rider on a peaceful ride through bushland. These are very laid back and offer no qualms for first time riders. The southern cross country course is of course only for the experienced. Although in many cases there are 2 different jumps side by side one small and one large. This is so all can complete the course. Lockanora Lodge has 2 large arenas. The indoor arena is fully set up with air-con and stadium seating. The lodge is fully set up to offer agistment to horse owners and riding lessons; wether on their own horse or on one of the lodges horses.

Temperment:: Sinner is like the embodyment of the 7 deadly sins. Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride. He loves all the mares on the propertry and he is usually seen flirting and showing off to them. He doesnt get along with any of the stallions. As such we sometimes need to ride him with a red ribbon in his tail. He will work only with women. We have seen him jump many of the fences here at Lockanora. As such we have had to take extra precautions with our mares.

Temperment:: Honey is as sweet as her name. We are taking the training with her very slowly and carefully and giving her a chance to settle. so far though her temperment has exceded our expectation and she is a very quite docile mare.

Temperment:: Muffy lives up to her show name of Show Girl. When there is a camera or an audience to please she strives to make the best appearence. When there is no one watching she is bossy and pig headed. Her training is going well only if there are about 3 people watching, any less and muffy tries her hardest to unseat her rider. We are working on these problems.
